Changes noticed in cerebrospinal fluid levels can aid in identifying people at high threat of future Alzheimer Disease (AD). The detection is possible at a minimum of five to 10 years prior to conversion to dementia, note scientists. They found that cerebrospinal fluid levels of AB42 appear to be decreased at least five to 10 years before some patients with mild cognitive impairment develop AD dementia whereas other spinal fluid levels seem to be later markers of disease.
